Gwen Stefani, born October 3, 1969, USA, is
a world famous musician, who has started her
solo career in the year 2004, after leaving
the famous pop band "No Doubt", where
she was a lead singer for more than 10 years.
Gwen Stefani was born in California, and her
father comes form Italy, and her mother is from
the United Kingdom. Stefani has two brothers
(Eric and Todd) and a younger sister (Jill).
Stefani's
singing career was developed through a long
period of time, where she was doing different
dead-end day jobs cleaning and working in a
department store. Gwen Stefani joined the "No
Doubt" band through her brother that started
the group in 1986 with his friend John Spence
(Spence committed suicide in 87). Gwen became
a part of No Doubt in 1987.
During
her time in "No Doubt", the band split
up several times, however still became very
popular with their singles like "Don't
Speak", Just a Girl", and "Sunday
Morning".
Stefani's
solo career started in September 2004, when
her new single "What You Waiting For"
from her new album "Love, Angel, Music,
Baby" was released. The single sold very
well all over the world. She has gone on to
prove her worth as a solo artist through her
record sales worldwide.. e.g. "What You
Waiting For?" is certified platinum; "Rich
Girl" is certified double platinum, "Hollaback
Girl" is certified platinum and "Love.
Angel. Music. Baby." is certified 5x platinum
worldwide.
Gwen
Stefani is also involved with fashion, by having
contracts with Japan fashion designers and creating
her own fashion line called L.A.M.B. Stefani
has also signed an advertising contract with
Hewlett-Packard company and has had her debut
in acting by playing a role in the movie "The
Aviator" in 2004.
Stefani
has been married to Gavin McGregor Rossdale
since September 14, 2002.
