Beyonce Knowles was born in Houston, Texas in
September 4, 1981 to Tina Knowles and Matthew
Knowles. She started on her path to becoming
a celebrity music star by being the lead singer
of the famous American girl band "Destiny's
Child".
As
a child Beyoncé showed an interest in
dancing and performing. When she was 7, Knowles
attended dancing school and was singing in the
church choir.
Beyonce
and "Destiny's Child" were discovered
by the famous black American singer Whitney
Houston. "Destiny's Child" also had
Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland as members.
The group gained much popularity and released
several albums, with many singles reaching number
1.
Knowles
began her solo career in the year 2003, when
the single "'03 Bonnie And Clyde"
made in collaboration with the music star Jay-Z
was released. The year 2003 became a significant
one for Knowles' career, as she released her
debut solo album, named "Dangerously in
Love", which sold eight million copies
worldwide and made her the biggest-selling female
R&B artist of the year 2003.
Beyoncé
Knowles has composed soundtracks and music for
different movies for the past 5 years. For example,
in her composer filmography list there are Romeo
Must Die (2000), Charlie's Angels (2000), Austin
Powers in Goldmember (2002), Soul Plane (2004),
and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004).
Alongside
composing the music and her career as a singer,
Beyoncé has played acting roles in Carmen:
A Hip Hopera (2001), Austin Powers in Goldmember
(2002), The Fighting Temptations (2003), and
The Pink Panther (2006).
Beyoncé
Knowles has gained a large number of music awards,
including ASCAP Pop Music Awards (2001), MTV
Video Music Awards as Best Female Video, Best
R&B Video(2003), MTV Europe Music Awards
for Best R&B Award(2003), Billboard Music
Awards (2003), VH1 Awards, Grammy Awards (2004),
BET Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, has become
the Songwriter of the Year 2001, and many nominations.
