Branson Bio..
(Sir) Richard Branson is a flamboyant entrepreneur
and businessman with companies all over the
world. The founder of the multinational company
"Virgin" was born on the 18th of July,
1950 in the United Kingdom. He started the Virgin
mail order record company at the age of 20 and
in 2 years he started to grow the Virgin Records
enterprise.
The
Virgin Records company had many contracts signed
with world famous singers and bands like the
"Sex Pistols", "The Rolling Stones",
and Janet Jackson. As a result in the early
80's Virgin Records was ranked in the list of
the top six record companies in the world.
Branson
is famous for his interest in extreme and adventures,
as he has done many extreme activities around
the world, like flying in a hot air balloon,
going to space, testing different flying machines
and making new world records.
Branson
has established Virgin Atlantic Airways (1984),
Virgin Mobile (1999), Virgin Express and has
signed the Virgin Galactic (2004) project that
will offer space tourism.
Being
a very successful business man has brought Richard
Branson many awards and honors, such as an honorary
degree of Doctor of Technology from Loughborough
University (1993), has became Sir Richard Branson
and was knighted by the Queen in 1999 because
of his contribution to business. He has appeared
on several TV series also, (Friends, Baywatch,
Birds of a Feather) and had his own reality
show "The Rebel Billionaire".
