Quotes and Comments by Oprah Winfrey
You know, as a kid,
when I was growing up, especially in the third
and fourth grade, I always wanted to be a minister
and preach and be a missionary. And then for
a while, after Mrs. Duncan's fourth grade class,
I wanted to be a fourth grade teacher.
And I think,
in many ways, that I have been able to fulfill
all of that.
There are certain things I won't do. Any kind
worship I won't do. I no longer want to give
a platform to racists;
I just don't.
Were there any books
that you could remember reading when you were
that you loved
or that influenced
was that I didn't listen
to the voice. Me! The one who always preaches
"Listen to the voice," "Be guided
by the voice," "Take direction from
the voice." And the voice--by which I mean
the voice of God
within me, and within all of us--was speaking
loud and clear and I didn't take heed.
