Zinédine Zidane was born on the 23rd June, 1972 in Marseille, France as Zinédine Yazid Zidane and has achieved much recognition on a global scale as one of the best football players in the world.

Zidane has a background of Algerian Kabyle Berber (Muslim) and began his developing his football skills during his early childhood. When Zinédine Zidane was 14 years old he was discovered by football clubs in junior tournaments. At the age of 16 Zidane was playing with professional football players and had played his first game in First Divisions when he was 17.

The year 1998 is considered to be significant for his football career when he and the French football team won the 1998 World Cup, and then in 2000 Zidane with his football team won Euro 2000. During the late 90's and early 2000's Zidane had gained many achievements and was elected as the FIFA World Player of the Year in 1998, 2000 and 2003.

Zidane became the most expensive player in football history in 2001, when he went from the Italian to the Spanish club, Real Madrid for a four year term.

Zidane has also been a fashion model, doing modeling business for brands like Dior. One of the major sponsors of the French soccer player was the toy company "LEGO".

Zinédine Zidane is married to Veronique, a Spanish dancer, and the couple have three children together.
