Mary Pierce was born on January 15, 1975 in Montreal, Canada and is a French tennis player. Mary's mother is French, but father is American. She was raised in the USA, but represents France in tennis internationally.

When she was 10 years old Mary Pierce started playing tennis and already in two years she succeeded in local tennis tournaments. The year 1989 marked a significant turning point for her tennis career, as she appeared to be the youngest American tennis player, making a debut on the professional tennis level.

Pierce was taught by her father Jim Pierce and created an astonishing tennis career, by winning Grand Slam titles and reaching high ranking on singles and doubles, facing such great tennis stars as Venus Williams, Elena Dementieva, Lindsay Davenport. Her regular coach is her brother David.
