Pollock Bio..
Jackson Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming, USA
on Januray 28, 1912 and had died on August 11,
1956. The famous American artist is considered
to be one of the inlfuencial leaders of the
Abstract Expressionism.
Developing
himself as an artist, Jackson Pollock studied
at Art Students' League in New York and created
his art style more connected to symbolism and
using human physiological element, for example,
reflecting depression, life, violence. After
establishing his own studio Pollock made it
possible to paint on the floor and to expand
his creating area.
Having
his first exhibition in the year 1948 at the
Betty Friedman Gallery, Jackson Pollock had
gained a worldwide popularity and astonishing
recognition as an expressionist modern artist.
However soon after that Pollock got involved
into commercial art and art as a financial business
with strategy.
Pollock
in the last years of his life was alcohol addicted
and had died when he was 44.
The American expressionist had made such a great
influence on the history of art, that he was
the subject to few films and documentaries,
for example, Jackson Pollock (1987), Jackson
Pollock - Love & Death on Long Island (1999)
and Pollock (2000).
The number of paintings made by Jackson Pollock
are valued at a high price and it includes such
major paintings as "Male and Female"
(1942), "The She-Wolf" (1943), "Blue
(Moby Dick)" (1943), "The Tea Cup"
(1946), "Convergence" (1947), "Easter
and the Totem" (1953) and many other.
