Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22,
1984 in New York, the United Stated of America
of polish-Danish descent. Scarlett is a granddaughter
of the famous Danish writer Ejner Johansson.
Her parents are divorced, with her dad living
in New York, and mother living in Los Angeles.
Scarlett Johansson has a twin brother Hunter,
older sister (Vanessa, also an actress) and
brother Adrian, along with an older half-brother
Christian.

Johansson acted in her first television appearance
at the age of 8 on the "Late Night with
Conan O'Brien". She has attended and graduated
from the Professional Children's School in Manhattan
in the year 2002.

Johansson achieved remarkable recognition as
an actress since the late 90's till present,
by acting in quite a number of hit
movies, that have gained positive reviews
from movie critics (The Horse Whisperer, Lost
in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring, The
Island).
The
movie "The Island" was her first action
film for the young American actress.
Scarlett
has received the Hollywood Reporter Young Star
award (for "The Horse Whisperer), two Young
Artist Awards, one BAFTA Award, three American
Comedy Awards and was nominated in the year
2003 for two best actress awards at the Golden
Globes.
