Kidman Bio..
Nicole Kidman was born on June 20 1967 in Hawaii,
but has grown up in Australia and is considered
to be an Australian actress. Her parents are
Antony David Kidman and Janelle Ann, and her
sister is Antonia. At the age of 4 Nicole was
moved to Australia and she now has both Australian
and American citizenship.
Nicole
has showed her dancing skills when she was three
years old, by joining ballet classes in Melbourne,
Philip Street Theater and the Australian Theater
for Young People in Sydney. Her acting career
started in 1983, at the age of 15 in her debut
music video "Bop Girl". Soon Nicole
started to appear in different TV shows ("Five
Mile Creek", "A Country Practice",
"Emerald City"). The year 1989 was
very significant for her as she appear in "Dead
Calm" and started to become famous in the
USA.
During
mid 90's Kidman developed her career as an actress
by working on such great project as "Batman
Forever" (1995), and "To Die For"
(1995).
Kidman
was married to Tom Cruise which also helped
her becoming famous in the 90's. Kidman and
Cruise got closer when they were filming "Days
of Thunder" in the year 1990. They have
adopted two children together (Connor and Isabellla).
In the year 2001 Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
divorced, which led to Kidman absorbing herself
in her work, taking on one movie after the other.
Her fame rose dramatically, as did her reputation
among film critics, with acclaimed performances
in "Moulin
Rouge", "The Others", The
Hours", and "The
Stepford Wives".
Nicole
Kidman has been active not just in filming and
acting life, but in music as well. Her best
known singing was presented in the movie "Moulin
Rouge"(2001) with her co-star Ewan
McGregor. The second collaboration was done
with the British pop
singer Robbie Williams.
Nicole
Kidman was listed as the richest Australian
woman under the age of 40, with an estimated
worth of 155 million A$ in August, 2004.
Nicole
Kidman has gained incredible recognition in
the world of movies in her career as an actress.
Nicole Kidman has won 2003's Best Actress Oscar
(for the role in "The hours", filming
in 2002). She was nominated for the Academy
Award for Best Actress in 2002 (for "Moulin
Rouge") and has won British Academy
Award (BAFTA) for "The Hours" and
two MTV Movie Awards for Moulin Rouge in 2002.
Nicole Kidman was nominated for a Golden Globe
seven times and was given many awards by different
Film Festivals and Film Institutes.
Nicole
Kidman is involved with several charities and
organizations, including UNICEF policy since
the middle 90's.
